Crisis Support

Crisis Center Overview

Crisis centers for sexual assault survivors are organizations or facilities that provide immediate support, resources, and assistance to individuals who have experienced sexual assault. These centers often offer a range of services including crisis intervention, counseling, medical advocacy, legal support, and referrals to other resources.

Here are some examples of crisis centers for sexual assault survivors:

1. RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network): RAINN is the largest anti-sexual violence organization in the United States. They operate the National Sexual Assault Hotline (800.656.HOPE) and offer resources and support for survivors.

2. National Sexual Assault Hotline (USA): This hotline is operated by RAINN and provides confidential support, information, and referrals to survivors of sexual assault - Call 800.656.HOPE.

3. Local Rape Crisis Centers: Many communities have local rape crisis centers that offer a range of services, including crisis counseling, support groups, and advocacy. These centers are often affiliated with larger organizations. We are working on developing a map to help find the closest one for you!

4. Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Programs: SANE programs are often based in hospitals and provide specialized medical care and forensic evidence collection for sexual assault survivors.

5. Crisis Text Line (USA): While not specific to sexual assault, the Crisis Text Line (text HOME to 741741) provides free, confidential crisis support via text messaging.

*It's important to note that the availability of crisis centers and the services they offer may vary by region and country. If you or someone you know is in immediate need of assistance, please reach out to a local crisis center or emergency services.
