What is the Healing Companion™?
The Healing Companion™ is an AI powered judgement-free support chat to help provide resources, answer complex questions, and make referrals with professionals, only if that is what you are looking for! You are in control of the conversation and your data.
Our on-demand support tool powered by Mistral AI. That means we use Mistral’s technology in the backend to help answer your questions about therapy, legal rights, self-care, and more.

What questions can I ask?
The Healing Companion™ is here to help with things like:
- Understanding your rights after an assault
- Exploring therapy options along with referrals if prompted
- Finding words for how you’re feeling
- Navigating self-advocacy and support tools
- Learning about trauma-informed care
- Finding a lawyer who might be able to support or answer further questions
You can ask in casual language, share as little or as much as you want.

- A substitute for legal or medical advice

Where do you store data?
We store data in a few secure locations depending on its purpose:
Feedback & Feature Requests: When you submit feedback or feature ideas, they’re stored in our email inbox. Information on this form may include: name, location (city, state), and explaination of request. Any personal details you choose to share are completely optional.
Chat Feedback: When you select the 'thumbs up' or 'thumbs down' on a response in the Companion™ chat, that feedback will be stored within a cloud folder by date to help us improve Healing Companion™ over time. We do not store full conversation history or personally identifying information.
User Data: Beyond Believed does not require account creation, by doing this we do not track or store your chat sessions. However, you may notice if you leave the chat and return there will be a "welcome back message"; this allows for the onboarding screen you have previously agreed to, to dismiss. No data from past conversations have been saved.

Third-party Connections: When you interact with our Companion™, your message is sent to Mistral through an API. This means there is a third-party connection to Beyond Believed in order to oporate the Companion™.
Mistral does not use data or conversations from their API to train their models or improve their systems. Learn more in Mistal’s privacy policy.
