  • RAINN is here to be your safe space, support system, and go-to when you need someone to talk to. RAINN has teamed up with over a thousand trained local support providers across the United States because together, we're stronger. When you need someone to lean on, the National Sexual Assault Hotline is just a call or click away at 800.656.HOPE, online.rainn.org, or rainn.org/es for Spanish speakers.

RAINN is not just about responding; they are also about preventing. Because everyone deserves to feel safe. Their programs are here to bring awareness, support survivors, and make sure those responsible are held accountable.

    • National Sexual Assault Hotline: When you need someone to listen, call away at 800.656.HOPE. Or chat online at online.rainn.org or rainn.org/es for Spanish speakers.

    • Local Allies: Over 1,000 trained local sexual assault service providers across the country are available 24/7.

    • Public Policy: Each year, RAINN works closely with allied stakeholders, Members of Congress, administration officials, and others to secure and expand funding for critical programs and services. RAINN’s policy team works at the federal and state level to improve the criminal justice system, prevent sexual assault, and ensure justice for survivors.

    • Education: Features programs and experience in Victim Services, Public Education, Public Policy, and Consulting & Training.

  • RAINN, as a leading force in anti-sexual violence efforts, has been actively involved in shaping public policy. Here are some key highlights:

    1. Child RESCUE Act:

    • A bipartisan group of Congress members introduced this legislation, championed by RAINN. The Child RESCUE Act aims to swiftly identify and remove children experiencing abuse, ensuring their safety.

    2. No Time Limit for Justice Act:

    • RAINN advocates for this crucial act, which eliminates statutes of limitations for sex crimes against minors. It allows survivors of child sexual abuse to seek accountability whenever they're ready.

    3. Policy Priorities for the Biden Administration:

    • RAINN outlined 12 actions it hopes the Biden administration will prioritize to promote justice and support survivors. Transparency, inclusivity, and survivor-focused policies are at the heart of these priorities.

    4. State-Level Advocacy:

    • RAINN actively engages with state legislatures. For instance, in California, RAINN supported AB 933, which aims to prevent survivors from being silenced after sexual assault. This bill encourages transparency and accountability.

RAINN's commitment to justice and support shines through each initiative.

  • RAINN sponsors an annual campaign geared toward raising awareness and educating students about sexual violence, bystander intervention, and recovery resources on college campuses. Since 2018, RAINN Day is held every April to coincide with Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month (SAAPM).

  • Let's address some concerns that factored into our rating:

    • Transparency Matters: Some community members have expressed a desire for more transparency from RAINN's administration. When it comes to an organization that supports survivors, openness is crucial. Let's encourage RAINN to share more about their decision-making processes and financial allocations.

    • Inclusivity and Representation: A few voices have highlighted the need for greater diversity and representation within RAINN's leadership. Survivors come from all walks of life, and having leaders who reflect this diversity ensures a more empathetic and holistic approach. Let's advocate for inclusivity.

    • Resource Accessibility: There have been whispers about accessibility challenges. Whether it's language barriers, geographical limitations, or technological hurdles, such as prolonged wait times to access a staff member on the hotline.

    • Balancing Advocacy and Support: Some folks feel that RAINN's focus on advocacy sometimes overshadows direct survivor support. Striking the right balance is essential. Let's encourage RAINN to keep their hearts close to those needing immediate help while championing systemic change.

By evaluating these aspects, we aim to maintain a database that reflects our dedication to offering the best possible support for survivors.
